Internalizing

Let the beauty you love be what you do.

Letting go of what was holding me back from life makes me feel so much lighter. I am looking to connect with like minded people….;-)

Sometimes the simplest wisdom is the hardest to acknowledge–like the fact that pleasure and joy can be beneficial to your health. When mystical poets such as Rumi and Kabir use objects of beauty and delight, like roses or wine, as metaphors for the Divine, they’re subtly linking the excitement of Earthly pleasures with Divine enjoyment. Recent medical research seems to agree that what pleases us–beautiful music, delicious food, and soothing aromas–can also improve our health and help us resist illness. Internalizing the world of natural beauty with the soul’s capacity for the joy expressed in these sayings helps us harmonize with the aesthetic balance and pleasure they provide. As the Christian mystic Meister Eckhart points out, things in themselves are never bad, only our propensity to become attached to them to the point where we can’t easily let them go.

Love yourself and be awake.
Today, tomorrow, always.

You are your only master.
Who else?
Subdue yourself
and discover your master.
